Privacy Policy

Effective July 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information NISCR (the National Institute for Service, Certification & Restoration) collects when you use niscr.com, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. NISCR is an online-only business serving learners across the United States.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to niscr.com and the enrollment, course, exam, and certification services offered there (the “Services”), operated by NISCR (“NISCR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

Information you provide to us

When you enroll in a course or create an account, you give us:

  • Your name — used on your account and printed on your Certificate of Completion.
  • Your email address — used to create your account, send receipts and your certificate, and contact you about your enrollment.
  • An optional business or company name, if you choose to add it to your certificate.
  • Your responses to course quizzes and the final exam, and the certificates you earn.

If you email us, we also receive whatever information you choose to include in your message.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s secure checkout and are handled by Stripe — NISCR does not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited information from Stripe to fulfill your order and keep our records, such as the billing name and email, the amount and date, a payment confirmation, and the last four digits and brand of your card. Stripe’s handling of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Information we collect automatically

Like most websites, we and our analytics and advertising providers automatically collect certain information when you visit niscr.com — including your device and browser type, IP address, the pages you view, the site or ad that referred you, and the general location inferred from your IP address. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see below).

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for two main purposes:

  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising measurement — Google Ads conversion tracking helps us measure the performance of our advertising (for example, which ads lead to an enrollment).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on and manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Center.

How we use your information

  • Provide the Services: create your account, deliver courses, grade exams, and issue and email your certificate.
  • Process payments and keep records of your purchases.
  • Send transactional messages such as receipts, your certificate, and account or security notices.
  • Operate the public certificate-verification tool, which confirms a certificate’s ID, holder name, course, and validity to anyone who looks it up.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the site and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Measure and improve our advertising.
  • Comply with our legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run NISCR, and only as needed to operate the Services:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Supabase — the database and authentication service that securely stores your account and certificate records.
  • Google — analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising measurement (Google Ads).
  • Resend — our email delivery provider, used to send your certificate and account emails.
  • Netlify — our website hosting and content-delivery provider.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect the rights and safety of NISCR or others, or in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of our business (in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy).

Public certificate verification

NISCR credentials are designed to be verifiable. When a certificate is issued, its unique ID, the holder’s name, the course, and the issue and expiry dates can be confirmed by anyone through our verification tool. This public confirmation is a core, intended feature of the credential. If you have a concern about your certificate’s visibility, contact us.

Data retention

We keep your account and certificate records for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to support your credential (which is valid for 24 months and renewable), to operate the verification tool, and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When we no longer need your information, we delete or de-identify it. You may ask us to delete your information as described below, though we may need to retain limited records — for example, proof of a completed transaction — where the law requires.

Your privacy rights and choices

Wherever you live in the United States, you can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must legally keep.
  • Opt out of any non-essential email (transactional messages about your account and certificate will still be sent).

Some states — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others — give residents additional rights, such as the right to know the categories of personal information collected and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. As noted above, NISCR does not sell your personal information. To exercise any right, email us at niscrtraining@gmail.com and we will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and we rely on established providers (Stripe for payments, Supabase for data) that maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

NISCR’s Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

The site may link to third-party websites, such as state licensing boards. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; their own policies govern your use of them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
